CRUNCHY CHEWIES

1 (3 1/2-ounce) can flaked coconut
1 (6-ounce) package butterscotch morsels
1 (6-ounce) package semisweet morsels
1/2 cup peanuts, chopped
Preheat oven to 350. Line a jellyroll pan with aluminum foil. Sprinkle coconut in a thin layer onto foil; bake for 10 minutes, stirring often, or until golden.
Remove from oven and sprinkle butterscotch morsels evenly over coconut. Toss mixture together using two forks until butterscotch morsels are melted and distributed evenly with the coconut. Pat mixture tightly on foil into an 8-inch square. Place in refrigerator while preparing chocolate layer.
Melt chocolate morsels in top of a double boiler over hot water; stir in peanuts. Carefully spread mixture evenly over coconut layer. Score through both layers into 1-inch squares. Refrigerate 1 hour or until hardened. Peel off foil and break into squares. Makes 48 squares.
