CHOCOLATE SNICKERDOODLES

2 1/4 cups sugar
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1/2 cup cocoa
1 cup butter, softened
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder

In a mixing bowl, stir together sugar and spice; set 1/2 cup of mixture aside in a shallow bowl. Add coco powder to mixer bowl; stir to blend. Add butter, beat until fluffy. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients. Form 1 tbsp dough into a ball and roll in reserved sugar mixture. Repeat procedure with remaining dough and place 2 inch apart on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes or until edges are firm. Cool on a wire rack.
