AMARETTO CHEESECAKE COOKIE SQUARES

1 cup flour
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
6 tbsp butter
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
4 tbsp amaretto
1/2 tsp vanilla
4 tbsp almonds, chopped

Preheat oven to 350. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and brown sugar. Cut in butter until mixture forms fine crumbs. Reserve 1 cup crumb mixture for topping. Press remainder over bottom of an ungreased 8 inch pa. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.

In a mixer, thoroughly cream together cream cheese and sugar. Add next 3 ingredients; beat well. Spread batter over crust. Combine almonds with reserved crumb mixture and sprinkle over batter. Bake 20-25 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
