1 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup sliced almonds or chopped pecans
Heat oven to 350. In large bowl, beat butter with sugars until fluffy. Beat in egg yolk and vanilla. Stir in flour. Pat batter into ungreased 13x9 inch baking pan. Bake 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven; cool 5 minutes. Sprinkle with small chocolate chips. As chocolate melts, spread to cover the entire crust. Sprinkle with nuts; press them lightly into the chocolate. Cool in pan on wire rack. Cut into bars. Makes about 36 bars
