Shelly's Recipe

FROSTED FRUIT WHIPPY SALAD

6 oz lime Jell-O
2 cups boiling water
2 cups of cold 7-Up or lemon-lime soda
11 oz can mandarin oranges; drained
15 oz can crushed pineapple; drained, juice reserved
3 bananas; sliced
1 cup mini marshmallows

Mix Jell-O mix and boiling water. Stir to dissolve. Add 7-Up or lemon-lime soda, stir and chill until mixture begins to thicken. Add oranges, pineapple, bananas and marshmallows. Chill until well set.

Topping:
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup reserved pineapple juice
1 slightly beaten egg
2 envelopes whipped topping mix

Cook sugar, pineapple juice and egg over medium heat until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in whipped topping mix. Cool and pour topping mixture over set Jell-O.
