1 (15 1/2 oz) can crushed pineapple, drained, reserving syrup
2 (3 oz) pkgs lemon Jell-O
1 cup ginger ale, sprite or cola
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 can jellied cranberry sauce
2 (3 oz) pkg cream cheese
1 (8 oz) carton whipped topping
Add water to syrup to make 1 cup liquid; heat until boiling. Dissolve Jell-O in hot liquid and cool. Gently stir in soda; chilled until partially set.
Blend pineapple and cranberry sauce; fold into Jell-O mixture. Turn into a 9 inch square dish. Chill until firm.
Soften cream cheese; gradually whipped topping with a mixer. Spread over gelatin. Toast pecans in 1 tbsp butter at 350 about 10 minutes. Sprinkle over top of salad. Chill. Cut into squares.
