SZECHUAN SHRIMP AND PASTA

8 oz linguine or spaghetti, cooked
1 lb medium peeled and deveined
1 tsp red and black pepper, divided
2 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
8 oz fresh snow pea pods
3/4 cup water
2 tsp cornstarch
1/4 tsp soy sauce

Sprinkle shrimp with pepper. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet. Add shrimp and sprinkle with garlic and ginger. Stir-fry 3 minutes or until shrimp are pink. Set aside.

Add remaining oil to skillet. Stir-fry pepper strips and pea pods; 2 minutes or until tender.

Combine next 3 ingredients and remaining pepper. Pour into skillet; cook 1-2 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally. Return shrimp to skillet; heat through. Serve over pasta.
