ENGLISH TRIFLE

1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
2 cups milk, divided
1 (4 serving) pkg vanilla instant pudding
2 1/2 cups cubed pound cake
1/2 cup strawberry preserves
1 (16 oz) can peach slices, drained and chopped
Whipped topping, thawed

Mix cream cheese and 1/2 cup milk until well blended. Add pudding mix and remaining 1 1/2 cups milk; beat on low speed for 1 minute. Layer 1/2 each of the cake, preserves, peach slices and pudding in a 1 1/2 quart serving bowl; repeat layers. Cover and surface with plastic wrap; refrigerate until serving. At serving time, top with the whipped topping. Serves 8
