FRIENDSHIP 10 DAY COFFEE CAKE

Day 1
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 cup milk
Stir until batter is smooth. Cover with foil and refrigerate

Days 2, 3 and 4: stir and refrigerate.
Day 5: Same as Day 1.
Days 6, 7, 8 and 9: Stir and refrigerate.
Day 10: Remove 2 cups of batter.
Give 1 cup to a friend with recipe.
Reserve 1 cup to start another batch.

To remaining batter, add and mix together:
1 tsp salt
2 cups four
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup milk
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
2/3 cup oil

Topping
1/2 cup flour
1 tbsp cinnamon
1 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp melted butter
3/4 cup nuts or raisins

Pour batter into a greased 13x9 inch baking dish or 2 (9 inch) cake tins. Sprinkle topping over batter and swirl into batter. Bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes. Add extra time if you add a fruit topping.
