SOUTHWEST GRILLED SHRIMP SKEWERS

1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup grapefruit juice
1/4 cup tequila (the cheap kind is okay)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp hot sauce
1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined (count does not matter, but 31-40 is good)
Skewers

In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients except the shrimp and blend well. Add the shrimp and toss to coat.

Cover the shrimp and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 24 hours. Turn the shrimp occasionally.

When you are ready to cook the shrimp, skewer them and place them on a preheated grill on medium-high heat for 4 minutes per side.

Brush the shrimp frequently with leftover marinade, cooking for 8 minutes total.
