PASTA CON CASTAGNI E BROCCOLI

2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
1/2 onion, chopped
4 tbsp olive oil, divided
2 cups chicken stock
1 bunch broccoli florets
1 dozen chestnuts, boiled and shelled
1 lb penne pasta, cooked according to the package directions
Romano cheese, to taste
Braise the garlic and onion in 2 tbsp olive oil until they are tender, but not browned. Add the chicken stock, broccoli and chestnuts. Cook on medium heat until the broccoli is tender.
Add the remaining olive oil just before you serve the broccoli with the cooked pasta. Serve, adding the Romano cheese to the individual plates.
