APPLE CRUNCH COFFEE CAKE

2 cups baking mix
2/3 cup milk or cold water
3 tbsp sugar
1 egg
2 cups thinly sliced pared apples

Streusel Topping
2/3 cup baking mix and packed brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 cup firm butter

2 tbsp chopped nuts
Glaze
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2-3 tsp milk
1 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 400. Grease a 9 inch square pan. Mix first 5 ingredients; beat until well combined. Spread half of batter in pan. Arrange apple slices on batter. Make streusel topping by combining dry ingredients together and cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle with half streusel topping on batter. Spread remaining batter over apple slices; sprinkle with remaining topping. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake about 35 minutes. Cool. Combine glaze ingredients and drizzle over cake.
