APPLE BRUNCH CAKE

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup milk
3 medium-size Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and diced

Topping
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup butter

Cream together butter and cream cheese. Add sugar and eggs; beat well. Add vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Add to the creamed mixture alternating with milk. Add apples. Batter will be very thick. Spoon into a greased and floured 13x9 inch baking pan. Combine the topping ingredients and cutting in the butter until it is the size of small peas and evenly distributed. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the batter. Bake at 350 for 50-60 minutes. Cool 20 minutes before cutting.
