CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY SQUARES

1 1/4 cups flour and oats
1/3 cup sugar and packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup butter, chilled and cut into pieces
/4 cup chopped almonds
3/4 cup raspberry preserved
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Heat oven to 350. In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients. Cut butter with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly. Reserve 1 cup mixture for topping; stir in almonds. Set aside.

Press remaining oat mixture onto bottom of an ungreased 8 inch square baking pan. Bake 10 minutes.

Spread preserves evenly over partially baked crust to with 1/4 inch of edges; sprinkle evenly with 1 cup chocolate chips. Sprinkle reserved oat mixture over chocolate, patting gently. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
