PECAN PIE SURPRISE BARS

1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup pecans

Preheat oven to 350. Grease bottom and sides of a 13x9 inch baking pan. Reserve 2/3 cup of cake mix for filling. In a large bowl, combine remaining cake mix, butter and pecans until crumbly. Press into pan. Bake 15-20 minutes or until brown. Prepare filling.

Filling
2/3 cup reserved cake mix
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1 1/2 cup dark corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
Pecans

Combine in a large bowl; beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour over partially baked crust. Sprinkle with nuts. Return to oven and bake 30-35 minutes. Cool. Cut into bars.
