HAMBURGER STEW

1 1/2 lb hamburger
2 large onion, chopped
3 cups new potatoes (with skin on), cubed
4 carrots, sliced
1/4 lb mushrooms, sliced
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 (14 1/2 oz) can whole tomatoes, chopped
2 cobs corn, with corn sliced from cob
1/2 lb fresh green beans, snapped
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tsp each, basil, oregano and tarragon
2 tbsp sugar
Dash nutmeg
1 cup beef broth

Make two layers of each ingredients and heat to boil. Do not stir. Cook on lot heat at least one hour, or until vegetables are tender.
