PEPPER STEAK - Crock Pot

1 (2 lb) round steak, cut into strips
1/2 cup flour
2 tbsp oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 large onion, quartered
1-2 green peppers, cut into strips
2-3 carrots, sliced
1 beef bouillon cube, dissolved in 1 cup hot water
1 can tomatoes
1 can mushrooms
Salt and pepper
2 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 cup water
In a small bowl, mix round steak, flour and seasonings. Heat oil in a skillet and brown the meat, a few pieces at a time and place meat and remaining ingredients, except cornstarch mixture in crock pot on LOW setting for 8-10 hours. Add cornstarch and bring mixture to a simmer, continue simmering until thickened. Serve with rice.
NOTE: Can be made over stovetop by browning meat in oil. Adding garlic and onion and seasoning with salt and pepper. Add bouillon and simmer 20-25 minutes. Add tomato and green pepper. Cook 10 minutes. Add cornstarch mixture and soy sauce. Boil until sauce is clear and thick. Serve over rice.
