HERB BUTTERMILK DRESSING

2/3 cup buttermilk
1/3 cup olive oil
11/2 tbsp lemon juice or herb vinegar
1/4 cup light mayonnaise
3 tbsp chives, snipped
1 tsp fresh minced basil
1/2 tsp fresh minced oregano or marjoram
2 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp sugar

Whisk the buttermilk, olive oil, lemon juice and mayonnaise in a small bowl until smooth. Blend in the other ingredients and place into a jar or container. Cover and chill for 30 minutes or longer.
