HAM AND CHEESE FUSILLI CASSEROLE

1 lb dried fusilli pasta, cooked according to pkg directions
2 tbsp butter
2/3 cup chopped onion
3 tbsp flour
3 cups milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 tsp dry mustard
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/8 tsp ground red pepper
1 (14 oz) can tomatoes, cut up
8 oz sliced baked ham, cut into 1/4 inch thick strips
1 cup frozen peas
1/3 cup plain dry bread crumbs
1 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Heat oven to 375. Grease a 3-quart casserole dish; set aside.

Melt butter in a saucepan. Add onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute. Slowly pour milk into saucepan, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Whisk in next 4 ingredients, stirring occasio

nally until cheese melts. Toss cheese sauce with pasta and next 3 ingredients. Pour into prepared casserole.

Make a crumb topping by combining all remaining ingredients and sprinkle over casserole. Bake 15 minutes or until golden brown on top. Serves 8
