WINE-BRAISED CABBAGE

Category: Cabbage

2 tbsp. olive oil
1/2 large onion, thinly sliced
3 whole peeled cloves garlic, chopped
5 cups thinly shredded cabbage blend (coleslaw mix)
1 cup dry white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc
Salt and pepper

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook, stirring frequently, until tender and aromatic, about 5 minutes. Stir in the cabbage, pour 3/4 cup of the wine over and season with salt and pepper.

Cover the skillet and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Pour the remaining wine in the skillet and continue cooking until the cabbage is very tender and the chicken is heated through, 12 to 15 minutes longer. Serves 4
