JALAPENO CHEESE SPREAD

2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
2 cups chopped pecans, lightly toasted
8 to 10 thin spring onions, chopped
1 tbsp mayonnaise (use a little more if needed)
1 (10 oz) jar jalapeno jelly

Combine the cheese, pecans, spring onions and mayonnaise in a bowl and mix well. Spread in a 8-by 12-inch dish or other to table party platter. Chill, covered for several hours. Spread with the jalapeno jelly just before serving. Serve the spread with assorted party crackers. Serves 16.

NOTE: Sometimes I top this cheese mixture with Sweet n Hot Pepper & Onion Relish from Harry and David.
