1 lb ground beef and hot or sweet Italian sausage, casings removed
1 large onion, chopped
4 clove garlic, chopped
1 tsp dried oregano, crumbled
1/2 tsp dried thyme, crumbled
1 (28 oz) can Italian plum tomatoes, drained, chopped
2 tbsp tomato paste
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
Salt and pepper
1 lb mostaccioli pasta, cooked al dente
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped parsley
12 oz Fontina or provolone cheese

Preheat oven to 400. Saute fir 6 ingredients in a Dutch oven, crumbling, about 5 minutes. Add next 3 ingredients; simmer 5 minutes, breaking up tomatoes with back of a spoon. Add beans; heat through. Season with salt and pepper. Add next 3 ingredients; toss to combine. Transfer to a 13x9 inch baking pan. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake until cheese melts, about 30 minutes.
