TAMALE PIE

1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb bulk pork sausage
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1 (14 1/2 oz) can stewed tomatoes, drained
1 (11 oz) can whole kernel corn, drained
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
1/2 cup sliced ripe olives
1 1/2 tsp chill powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1 (8 1/2 oz) pkg corn bread/muffin mix
Paprika
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

In a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish. Cooke the beef, sausage, onion and garlic. Layer in casserole. Mix together: stewed tomatoes, corn, tomato paste, chili powder and salt. Spread on top of meat mixture.

In a bowl, beat egg. Add milk and corn bread mix. Stir just until moistened. Spoon over meat mixture; sprinkle with paprika. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until cooked and tests done with a toothpick. Serves 6
