CHOCOLATE NUT CHEWS

1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup cocoa and evaporated milk
1/2 cup butter and peanut butter
1 1/2 cups quick cooking oats, uncooked
1/2 cup pecans and walnuts, chopped
1 tsp vanilla extract

Combine first 4 ingredients in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture reaches a slow boil (mixture will bubble around edges). Cook 2 additional minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; add peanut butter and stir until smooth. Stir in next 3 ingredients. Drop mixture by tbspfuls onto waxed paper. Cool. Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
