*CHERRY-OAT-NUT COOKIES*

3/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
1 (3 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
1 egg
1 1/2 cups sifted confectioners sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1 cup finely chopped toasted pecans
Preheat oven to 375. Cream together sugar and brown sugar until fluffy. Combined dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture, stir until well blended. Reserving 1/2 cup oat mixture, pressing remainder of mixture into bottom of a light greased 13x9 inch baking pan. Spread pie filling over crust.
In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese and egg. Add confectioners sugar, vanilla and spices; beat until smooth. Stir in pecans. Spread cream cheese mixture over cherries. Crumble reserved crumb mixture over all. Bake 40-45 minutes or until center is set and top is lightly browned. Cool in pan. Cut into squares. Store in an airtight container to refrigerator.
