BUTTERSCOTCH SAUCE - EASY

Unwrap 40 hard butterscotch candies and place in a heavy plastic bag. Using a meat pounder or hammer, pound candies until finely crushed. Bring 1 cup whipping cream to a boil in a medium heavy saucepan over medium heat. Add candies. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring constantly, until candies are melted, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool for 10 minutes. Serve sauce warm or at room temperature. Makes 1 1/2 cups
