SOUTHWESTERN BURGERS

3/4 cup canned black beans, drained, rinsed
12 oz lean ground sirloin
2 chipotle chilies in adobo sauce, veins and seeds removed, minced
1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp freshly ground pepper
4 whole wheat sandwich buns, split, toasted
1/2 cup salsa
4 lettuce leaves

In medium bowl, mash beans coarsely with potato masher. Add ground sirloin, chilies, cumin, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt and pepper; mix with potato masher. Shape mixture into 4 (1/2 inch-thick) patties.

Heat grill; lightly oil grill and place patties 4 to 6 inch from hot coals. Grill 8 to 10 minutes or until no longer pink in center, turning once. Place burgers on buns; top with salsa and lettuce. Makes 4 sandwiches
