Category: Cakes
3/4 cup chopped pecans
3 cups flour
2 tbsp Pumpkin pie spice
2 tsp Soda
1 tsp Salt
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar and sugar
1 tsp vanilla
4 large eggs
1 (15 oz) can pumpkin
For Praline Sauce
1 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter
1 egg, beaten
1 cup chopped pecans
1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 350. Grease a tube pan and sprinkle pecans on the bottom of the pan. Combine flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking soda, and salt and set aside. Cream butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar in mixer until well blended. Add eggs one at a time, and blend well. Add pumpkin and vanilla and beat well. Gradually add flour mixture to the butter-eggs mixture, mixing well. Spoon batter into the greased and floured pan and bake for 60 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes.
Praline Sauce: Mix corn syrup, sugar, butter and egg in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil for 2 minutes. Remove and stir in pecans and vanilla, make holes in cake with fork and pour icing on top.
