PICANTE SAUCE

1 (10.75 oz) can tomato puree
1 1/3 cups water
1/3 cup chopped Spanish onion
1/4 cup chopped jalapeno peppers, with some seeds
2 tbsp white vinegar
1/4 tsp salt, dried minced onion and garlic

Combine ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Simmer 30 minutes or until thick. When cool, store in refrigerator overnight to combine flavors. Makes 2 cups
