BEER CAN CHICKEN - Smoked

4 lb whole chicken, cleaned
1 can beer
Rub
1 tsp celery salt, ground black pepper, Cayenne, Dry mustard, Garlic powder, Onion powder, brown sugar and paprika
1 cup wood chips, soaked for smoking
Prepare grill for indirect heat method. Mix spices to form a rub and apply mixture all over and inside chicken. Pour out half beer, and then make holes with opener on top of can, pour some of rub mixture into can. When coals are hot, place wood chips onto coals.
Set beer can in middle of grill, place chicken over top, inserting can into chicken’s cavity, sitting upright. Place cover on grill and smoke roast chicken for about 1 hour and fifteen minutes.
