2 tbsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
1/4 cup white wine
1/2 cup grated onion
2 tsp minced garlic
2 tsp olive oil
3 cups coarsely chopped plum tomatoes
1 tbsp tomato paste
1/4 tsp sugar

In a small bowl, steep basil and oregano in white wine for 10 minutes.

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, saute onion and garlic in olive oil for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add tomatoes tomato paste and sugar; then the steeped herbs and wine. Cover and cook for 15 minutes.

Remove sauce from heat and puree in a blender or food processor.

NOTE: Use sauce on pizza or over pasta. Makes 3 cups.

2 can (8 oz) tomato sauce 1½ tsp dry oregano 1 tsp thyme 1 tsp dry basil 1 tsp garlic salt 1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and let sit for no less than 1 hour.
