PHILLY CHEESESTEAK CASSEROLE

1 (16 oz) pkg bow tie pasta, cooked al dente
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 onions, chopped
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can milk
1 (16 oz) can mushrooms, drained
1/2 tsp dried thyme
4 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup dry bread crumbs
3 tbsp butter, melted

Preheat oven to 375. While pasta is cooking, heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Saute onions until softened. Add beef and cook, stirring, until browned. Drain.

Pour meat mixture into a bowl with the pasta. Stir in the next 4 ingredients until well blended. Mix in 3 cups cheese and season with salt and pepper. Pour the mixture into a greased 13x9 inch baking pan.

In a small bowl, mix together remaining cheese, bread crumbs and butter and sprinkle over top of casserole. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until topping is golden and crispy.
