MACAROON BROWNIES

1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Macaroon Filling
1 (14 oz) pkg flaked coconut
1 can sweetened condensed milk

Frosting
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
2 tbsp butter
1 cup miniature marshmallows
1 (6 oz) cup chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350. Brownie: Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well. Combine dry ingredients and gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in nuts. Spread half into a greased 13x9inch baking pan.

Combine filling ingredients and carefully spread over chocolate layer. Top with remaining chocolate mixture. Bake 40-45 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.

Frosting: Combine first 3 ingredients in a saucepan; cook and stir until sugar is dissolved. Add remaining ingredients. Cook and stir until marshmallows and chips are melted. Cool until mixture reaches spreading consistency, about 25 minutes. Spread over cooled brownies. Cut into bars.
