PIZZA ROLL
Category: Pizza
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 1/2 green or red bell peppers and onion, sliced then
Salt and pepper
2 lbs frozen bread dough thawed or favorite pizza dough
Favorite pizza sauce
Grated parmesan or romano cheese
Oregano, basil, crushed red pepper and garlic powder, to taste
1/2 lb each salami, ham, capocollo or pancetta
1/2 lb provolone or mozzarella cheese, sliced or shredded
Saute garlic, peppers and onions in olive oil for about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Roll out dough to make into a 12 inch square sheet or thinner. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce within 2 inches from the edges. Spread sauteed vegetables on top.
Layer remaining ingredients in the order listed. Roll to make one big loaf and seal edges tightly. Place seams on the bottom of a baking sheet and brush loaf with an egg wash. Bake at 350 for 17-20 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to rest about 5 minutes and slice. Serve warm or cold.
NOTE: Can be frozen in slices and reheated just before serving.
