PIZZA BURGERS

1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1 (8 oz) can pizza sauce
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 lb ground beef
1/2 onion, chopped
1 (4 oz) can mushroom stems and pieces, drained
2 oz pepperoni, finely chopped
2 slices mozzarella cheese
4 buns or English muffins, split and toasted

Combine bread crumbs, 2 tbsp pizza sauce, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. Add beef, onions, and pepperoni and mix well. Shape into 4 burgers. Grill, fry or broil the burgers until done. While burgers are cooking, heat remaining sauce and mushrooms. Cut cheese into 4 slices and serve patties on toasted buns, add cheese slices and pizza sauce.
