MACARONI AND SAUSAGE SUPPER

1 lb mild Italian sausage or ground beef
1/4 cup chopped green or red pepper
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 cups dry elbow macaroni
2 cup water
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup chili sauce
1/2 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese

Combine first 3 ingredients in a skillet and saute until vegetables are tender; drain. Stir in dry pasta and water. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes or until mixture comes to a boil.

Cover; reduce heat to low. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 14-16 minutes or until pasta is tender. Stir in milk and chili sauce. Remove from heat and sprinkle with cheese. Cover, let stand for 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
