RUM RUNNER FRENCH TOAST

6 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups half-and-half
3/4 cup heavy cream and dark rum
3 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp grated orange peel
3 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp cinnamon and nutmeg
1/4 lb butter
12 slices raisin bread

To beaten eggs, add next 8 ingredients. Heat 1/3rd of the butter in a skillet. Dip bread in batter, one at a time, until soaked. Fry 4 slices at a time until golden brown on each side. Remove to a platter and keep warm. Add more butter to skillet and repeat process until all the bread is fried. Serve with syrup.
