CREAM CHEESE CHERRY POUND CAKE

1 cup butter
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, room temperature
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
4 eggs
1 3/4 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup flour to coat chopped cherries
3/4 cups red cherries, chopped
1/4 cup green cherries, chopped
Favorite cream cheese icing, optional (I add a little cherry juice to the mixture.)
Halved cherries for garnish and decoration
Preheat oven to 325. Grease and flour a tube pan. Blend first 3 ingredients. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Gradually add flour and baking powder. Fold in floured cherries. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Cool at least 5 minutes before removing from pan to cool completely.
When cooled, frost with icing and garnish with cherries. Chill to set icing.
