HOT AND SPICY BEEF BURGERS

1 lb ground beef
1 1/2 tsp seeded, chopped jalapeno peppers
1/2 tsp ground cumin and salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1/4 cup shredded Monterey jack cheese
4 thin tomato slices and split hamburger buns, toasted

Combine first 5 ingredients; mix lightly but thoroughly. Divide mixture into 4 equal portions; shape into 1/2 inch thick patties. Grill 7-9 minutes, turning once. Sprinkle with cheese on each burger 1 minute before end of cooking time. Top with tomato slices on buns.
