CREAMY CHICKEN/TURKEY NOODLE CASSEROLE

2 tbsp butter
1 small onion, chopped
1 pkg sliced mushrooms
1 tbsp minced garlic
2 cups roughly chopped cooked chicken or turkey
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1 cup water or broth
2/3 cup sour cream
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Assorted vegetables for convenience, thawed (I used a prepackaged bag with carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower)
Salt and pepper to taste
12 oz. egg noodles, cooked

Crumb Topping
Bread or cracker crumbs
Melted butter
Grated parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 350.

In a skillet, melt butter and add next three ingredients until onions are softened. Place in a bowl and mix with remaining ingredients and pour into a greased casserole dish. Mix together crumb topping and sprinkle over top.

Bake until bubbly and topping has browned.
