STEAK OAXACA
Category: Beef Steaks
2-3 large clove garlic, pressed
2 tbsp packed brown sugar
1 tsp red chili powder and salt
1/2 - 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp vegetable oil
6 rib eye steaks or 2 lb steaks
In a small bowl, mix ingredients except steak; blend to make a paste. Rub on surface of steak. Wrap loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate 4-8 hours. Grill to desired doneness. To serve, slice thinly or serve individual steaks. NOTE: This is also good as a kabob with desired vegetables. Serve with one of these butters.
Herb butter: 1/2 cup melted butter, 1/2 tsp oregano or basil, 1/4 tsp pepper. Mix together and brush on while grilling.
Chili butter: 1/2 cup melted butter,1 tsp chili powder, 1/4 tsp ground cumin. Mix together and brush on while grilling.
