CHOCOLATE ALMOND BARK

Category: Candy

2 cups milk chocolate chips
1 tbsp vegetable shortening
1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted
1/3 cup white baking chips

In a microwave-safe medium bowl, microwave the milk chocolate chips with the shortening on high power for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring often, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.

Stir in the almonds, then pour into an 8 inch square baking pan lined with aluminum foil that has been coated with nonstick cooking spray.

Place the white baking chips in a heavy-duty resealable plastic storage bag and microwave on high power for about 45 seconds, until the chips are melted. Knead the chips until smooth. Snip a tiny bit off a corner of the bag and drizzle the white chocolate over the milk chocolate in the pan.

Using a knife, swirl the white chocolate through the milk chocolate. Chill for about 1 hour, or until set. Lift the foil from the pan, then break the bark into pieces and serve.
