1 box chocolate cake mix
2 (21 oz) cans cherry pie filling (you may use less or as desired to cover the cake)
2 (3 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar (or increase to desired sweetness)
2 (8 oz) cartons frozen topping, thawed

Prepare and bake the cake mix according to package directions in a greased 13x9 inch baking pan; cool cake completely. When the cake is completely cooled top with cherry pie filling; set aside.

In a mixing bowl beat cream cheese and sugar until light and fluffy. Fold in the Cool Whip topping until completely blended. Carefully spread the topping over the pie filling. Refrigerate a minimum of 4 hours before serving
