VANILLA CHIP DESSERT

3 cups crushed vanilla wafers (about 90 wafers)
1/2 cup butter, melted
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 (10 to 12 oz) pkg white baking chips
2 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
2 cups (16 oz) sour cream
1 (8 oz) carton frozen whipped topping, thawed
Chocolate ice cream topping, optional

In a large bowl, combine the wafer crumbs, butter and brown sugar. Press onto the bottom of a greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Bake at 350 for 5-8 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool.

In a microwave, melt white chips at 70% power for 1 minute; stir. Microwave at additional 10- to 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Cool.

In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Add melted chips; beat well. Fold in whipped topping. Pour over crust. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours or until set. Drizzle with chocolate topping if desired.
