APPLE SALAD WITH COOKED DRESSING

12 apples, diced
Juice of 1 lemon
1 can sliced pineapple, drained and reserved liquid, cut into small pieces
1 lb white grapes, halved
12 marshmallows, quartered
1 cup English walnuts, broken up

Combine diced apples with lemon juice to keep from turning brown. Combine everything in a bowl. Just before serving, mix with dressing that was prepared in advance

Dressing
Juice from pineapple
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp flour and butter
1/2 pint whipping cream,

Boil juice. In a saucepan, beat eggs lightly and add sugar and flour, which have been previously mixed. Gradually pour the boiling juice into the egg mixture, stirring constantly to prevent the eggs from cooking. Then place mixture onto the stove and cook thoroughly until thickened. Cover with a piece of plastic wrap and allow to cool completely.

Just before serving, fold whipped cream into the dressing and add to the fruit mixture.
