FUDGY ICE CREAM DESSERT

1 (14 oz) pkg cream-filled chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed
7 tbsp butter, melted
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream, softened
1 1/2 cups finely chopped salted peanuts
1 (8 oz) carton frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (11-3/4 oz) jar hot fudge ice cream topping, warmed
In a large bowl, combine cookie crumbs and butter until crumbly. Set aside 1/2 cup for topping. Press remaining crumb mixture into a greased 13x9 inch baking dish. Freeze for 30 minutes. Spread ice cream over crust. Cover and freeze for 2-1/2 hours.
Sprinkle peanuts over ice cream. Cover and freeze for 1 hour. Spread with whipped topping (pan will be very full). Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture. Freeze for 8 hours or overnight.
May be frozen for up to 2 months. Remove from the freezer 15 minutes before serving. Cut into squares. Serve with hot fudge topping.
