PEACHES AND CREAM DESSERT

3/4 cup flour
1 (3 oz) pkg non-instant vanilla pudding mix
3 tbsp butter, softened
1 large egg
1/2 cup milk or light cream
2 (15 oz) cans sliced peaches in light syrup, syrup reserved
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp sugar, divided
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon, divided
Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 9 inch baking pan.
Drain the sliced peaches and reserve 3 tbsp syrup; set aside.
Place the sliced peaches onto a flat surface then using paper towels pat dry to remove as much moisture as possible from the outside of the peaches.
In a mixing bowl combine the flour with pudding mix, butter, egg and milk; using an electric mixer at medium speed beat until thoroughly blended. Pour into bottom of the baking dish, then arrange the sliced peaches over the top.
In a bowl combine the cream cheese with 3 tbsp reserved syrup, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar; beat until smooth. Dollop over the top of the peaches then gently spread with a knife (it does not have to cover the peaches completely).
In a small bowl combine 2 tbsp sugar with 1 tsp cinnamon, then sprinkle over the top. Bake for 30-35 minutes (do not over bake!).
