HOT CRAB AND JALAPENO SPREAD

Heat oil in skilled. Add peppers and saute until soft. Transfer to a large bowl and add the next 8 ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Fold in crabmeat. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Pour into a 1-quart casserole dish and sprinkle almonds over the spread.

Bake at 375 until lightly browned and bubbly, about 30 minutes. Serve hot. Serve with toasted French baguettes that have been rubbed with whole garlic cloves.

Note: Can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator.
