SWISS CHEESE POTATO GRATIN

Category: Au Gratin and Scalloped

1 tsp butter
1/2 tsp garlic, chopped
1 1/2 tsp salt
4 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Swiss cheese

Preheat oven to 350. Butter bottom of a casserole dish and sprinkle with garlic and 3/4 tsp salt. Sprinkle remaining salt over potatoes and toss to coat thoroughly. Shingle potatoes in the casserole dish and pour the cream over the potatoes and top with cheese. Bake until potatoes are tender and the cheese and melted and is golden on top, about 1 hour. Serves 4-6
