PORK CHOPS WITH APPLE GRAVY

4 pork chops, about 3/4 inch thick
2 tbsp oil
1 tbsp butter
1 onion, sliced
1 tbsp flour
1 beef stock cube
1 cup apple juice
1 large green apple

Heat butter and oil in pan. Add sliced onions; cook until onions are transparent. Remove from pan. Add chops and brown on both sides, remove from pan. Add flour to pan and cook for 1 minute stirring constantly. Add crumbled stock cube and apple juice; mix well and stir until sauce boils and thickens. Reduce heat, return chops and onions in pan. Peel apple and slice thickly, place over chops; cover and cook over low heat for 15-20 minmutes or until chops are tender.
